DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES AND GOALS

  • The purpose of our vision booklet is to provide a road map to the proper redevelopment of the Shalom Zone in East Macon into the new Walnut Creek Village community. That community vision started with many different key initiatives to reach our goals:

  • Adopted the new community name and removed the East Macon stigma that goes along with its current conditions

  • Constructing new signage to display the new community name and vision

  • Created an Overlay District for business and streetscapes to abide by

  • Implemented High Quality STEAM Education across Walnut Creek Village

  • Constructed Recreation and the availability of safe kid zones.

  • Constructed Primary mixed-use development as a spark to the community

  • Expanded Funding and Partnership Opportunities throughout the community and region
